The JR Hokkaido Pass is a perfect way to explore the beautiful region of Hokkaido at an affordable rate. The Hokkaido pass entitles you to free seat reservations and unlimited train rides on all JR Hokkaido trains, limited express and ordinary express trains (excluding Hokkaido Shinkansen). You will also have access to certain buses operated by JR-Hokkaido.
After booking online, you can collect your Japan Rail Pass Exchange Order (EO) on the collection date and at the preferred Changi Recommends booth indicated during your booking process. Remember to collect your Physical Exchange Order from Changi Recommends counter before checking in for your flight. Please check that your name printed on the Exchange Order is completely the same as the one on your passport.
After arriving in Japan, please exchange your Exchange Order for the pass at the designated counters in Hokkaido. (Exchange Orders cannot be exchanged at the designated JR EAST counters outside Hokkaido.) An Exchange Order is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

*The rail pass cannot be used for the Hokkaido Shinkansen, the South Hokkaido Railway, the streetcar and the subway.
Reserved seats of the ordinary car can be used with the Hokkaido Rail Pass. (Except SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train) Advance seat reservation is available. (Except for some trains) You feel safe even during peak season. *When the number of reserved seats for rail pass users is limited, you may not be able to use a reserved seat depending on the train and section even if it is not occupied. *If you wish to take the SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train, please purchase a reserved seat ticket.
How to reserve seats:
Please make sure to receive reserved seat tickets before boarding if you plan to use a reserved seat. (Seats cannot be reserved on the train.)
If you wish to change your train after receiving a reserved seat ticket, please change your ticket at the ticket counter.
